The Secret Of Selling

I have just bought a brand new Jaguar because the car salesman asked the right question.

"What deal do we have to offer to secure your business before you leave the showroom," was the question rookie salesman Adam Cole asked.

I told him the deal I wanted. He consulted with his sales manager and came back and shook my hand - he was $500 short but I drove out of the showroom two hours later in my swish new car.

Adam may only have been in the job for a few months but he asked the perfect question that none of the other dealers had the balls to ask.

If I had been asked the same question in the Volvo or Porsche showroom, I may have ended up as the proud owner of a Panamera or an ultra safe Volvo.

Adam taught me a sales lesson - never be afraid to cut to the chase and ask for the business.
