Thought For The Week

Why should anyone care

Here’s the big question to ask if you’re developing a brand marketing strategy – why should anyone care?

There are lots of competing brands out there, so why should anyone choose yours?

It’s amazing how many brand managers don’t know what makes their brand special.

Truth is – you can’t create an effective marketing campaign until you can tell people why your brand matters to you and why it should matter to them.

Thought For The Week

Strategy is important.

Tactics are vital.

Execution is essential.

Some brands go to the wall because they didn’t get the strategy or tactics right.

A lot more disappear because they fail to execute a great strategy and the right tactics.

Follow this formula and you’ll never go wrong –

Strategy x Tactics x Execution = Success!

Thought For The Week

Big Data

Big data is transforming marketing.

It tells you what people have done.

It helps you predict what they might do in the future.

Big data, however, is not the be all and end all.

It can’t tell you how people feel.

Only people can provide emotional intelligence.

Thought For The Week

Winning Agency

Awards have never meant much to me.

That’s an appalling confession for a marketing man working in an industry that’s obsessed with winning awards.

Last week we won the Best Large PR Agency title in the Prolific North awards. What a boost it was to our entire team – there was rejoicing right across the company.

Hands up, I made a mistake. Winning awards is important…but not as important as generating winning results for clients!
