Beattie, the integrated communications agency, is to make a concerted effort to recruit university graduates.
Tagged the lost generation, there are tens of thousands of graduates across the UK frantically searching for work because of the COVID pandemic.
“My heart goes out to the graduates who are struggling to find a first job in their chosen profession. We’re going to do something about it in the marketing and communications sector by filling vacancies from the bottom up,” said chairman Gordon Beattie.
“Whenever we can, we'll give communications and marketing graduates a start in life by recruiting them to fill the jobs we create as part of the Beattie Bounce Back.
“We’re in the fortunate position of having an extremely senior team as well as excellent training and coaching programmes that will enable us to fast track the graduates we bring into the agency.
“It’s difficult to predict how many jobs we’ll be able to create over the next 12 months, but I’d be disappointed if we were unable to find places for at least 10 graduates.”
The agency is in the process of recruiting a graduate to fill a PR vacancy in its Manchester office.
“It’s an immediate opportunity for one bright and energetic graduate and we’re looking for CVs right now,” said Beattie. “As fresh opportunities arise, we’ll post vacancies on our website.”
Beattie is also encouraging graduates to send speculative CVs direct to operations director Elspeth Brown, along with a single sentence answer to the question – why should Beattie Communications hire me?
Beattie Communications provides digital, social, PR, creative and content marketing services to the healthcare, retail, food, fashion and eight other sectors.
Headquartered in London, its main UK hubs are Belfast, Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester and Birmingham.
Beattie added: “I would encourage other employers to follow our lead and provide a future for the thousands of young people who are desperately looking for jobs.”
