If a picture paints a thousand words – what do your profile pictures on social media say about you?
Do you look good? Do you appear happy? Are you giving off an air of success?
If you can’t truthfully answer yes, you need to change it fast.
Your profile pic is your shop window and if you don’t look amazing, you need to do something about it.
Don’t make excuses. I’ve heard them all before…
I’m not young, I’m not beautiful, I’m not handsome or some other self-deprecating remark.
It doesn’t matter if you’re young or old, good-looking or plain.
You don’t have to be picture perfect. You can still look attractive, appealing and friendly.
So shoot some shots on your mobile phone or get someone else to do the clicking.
If you must – use Photoshop but, whatever you do, don’t leave your profile space blank.
I’m making a judgement here – to me it signifies a lack of self-esteem.
So start posing.
Point your finger at the phone or camera – how does that look?
Stand up in front of an imaginary audience and make big dramatic gestures – how does that look?
Photograph yourself in front of a stunning background – how does that look?
There are 1001 things you can do to create great images of yourself.
When you’ve captured a stunning shot, upload it immediately.
Aim to have a different profile pic for every social site.
For instance you want to look business-like on Linkedin while looking sporty or fun-loving on Twitter.
Finally, don’t keep the same pic up for ever.
Change your profile photographs from time to time.
I know people who change them every season. I suggest changing them at least once a year. A new pic will keep your page looking fresh and energised.
So don’t delay – start shooting today.
